Why increase your optimism?
Optimism is one of most important emotional intelligence skills that you can develop. Being optimistic is not about being jolly or seeing the world through rose-tinted spectacles, rather, it is about being open to possibility and believing that there is a solution even when you don't know what it is.
Our brains are primed for survival, leading us to have a negative bias, tuning into anything that may be a potential threat. Consequently, our instinctive responses are linked to our short term protection and may not help us achieve our long term objectives.
Being more optimistic enables us to:
- Build better relationships;
- Collaborative more effectively; and
- Be more creative.
All of which will improve our productivity and well-being and enable us to perform optimally.
How it works...
Decide how much you want to engage and sign up for either 7 days or 30 days.
Note: To create a new habit it is recommended to repeat an action consistently for at least 21 days, although for certain habits it can take much longer (up to 6 months).
On sign up you will receive the first email straight away and then an email each day for the rest of the challenge.
Each email aims to exercise and develop your 'positivity muscle' with well-honed activities for you to follow. Each email will include three short steps to be taken each day:
Step 1: A quote or tip to create a positive mindset
Step 2: A positive action to create a positive emotional state
Step 3: A daily positivity workout to train your brain to focus on positives to overcome the primed 'negative bias'
Do you feel in need of some positive inspiration?
Subscribe to the challenge and notice how much better you feel.
You can't always change the situation, but you can always change how you think and respond to it - this will help you do just that.
